Well we promised a version for you once the counter was finished and we have one for you, though it may not be what you were hoping for. This version is the prototype we had finished to show to various companies. There are a lot of the features we wanted in this version and obviously a lot that aren't YET. I feel that at least with this you can all move around and see the work we have been doing, I understand this seems like a slow process to all of you and I am sorry. We want this game to be all we've wanted it to be and we don't want to cut corners, sadly this means it will take longer but the final product will be worth it. Thank you for all of your support and understanding, we don't want to let you down.
Peace.

Out with the old in with the new-- Posted on 4/14/07 by John,Jason & Justin
Quake 3 vs Truepaint
The above screenshot shows advancements with our in house engine. One of the problems we encountered with the vanilla Quake 3 engine is the non-realistic lighting stock Quake 3 comes with. We want to give players a true paintball experience, both with gameplay and graphics. The truepaint engine is a entire new engine based off of Quake 3. As you can see from the picture on the right we have true per-pixel lighting, normal mapping and specular, the picture on the left is what it looks like in stock Quake 3.
Per-pixel lighting and normal mapping are the easy part, adding light volumes and portal culling is the hard part. We have decided due to licensing issues we are going to use a in house bsp format for our game thats more optimized for terrain and larger scale maps. The editor and the compiler will be built into the engine, so mod developers can start modding for the game out of the box.
Large News Update-- Posted on 4/02/07 by John,Jason & Justin
The past two weeks have been very busy for truepaint we have been rusing to finish up a playable demo for paintball company sponsorship and we are happy o say it went well. We have been working on 2 new maps and upping the graphics of our game. We have decided to spend about 3 months completely rebuilding the backend of the quake 3 engine to better improve our graphics. We will be implementing many upgrades such as normal mapping, per pixel lighting, sky portals, converting the engine from c to c++ and making our maps in maya which allows us to do what ever we want in the ways of maps. We are shooting for an engine with graphics similar to those of the fear engine. We have also completed video diary#4 which will walk you through the demo and showcase some of the stuff we have been working on. So please watch the video and post up in our forums at truepaint.net and let us know what you think.

Out For A Smoke-- Posted on 3/08/07 by John,Jason & Justin
Truepaint update: We have now set our foot through the scenario door of our game and have been working heavily on it recently. We have just now toned up the smoke grenade particles in the engine and Jason has just gotten close to a finished animation. This is a big step for us, we are getting the pipeline more refined and we are editing the engine immensely to get all of this working. Stay tuned we have some more awesome Scenario features in the works and are anxious to show them off.

Truepaint- Art Nouveau -- Posted on 02/07/07 by John
Well wer'e back with another new update for everyone who has jumped on the truepaint bandwagon. As many of you know many of our past updates have consisted of theme based maps that haven't been true to the hardcore paintball community. We are about to change that with truepaint's first and second installment of there xball gameplay styled maps. This map, still yet to be titled, consists of 2 differently layed out xball fields. You will have a choice to play on the red or yellow sides as well as a third arena which will allow you to play on both sides as a whole, turning both layouts into one massive multiplayer paintbrawl.
In other news, Jason Hill, truepaint's lead artist has begun work on the many player models we have in store. The screen shot below shows one of the head models currently being worked on, which is near completion, and I must say it is looking amazing. Art is constantly being creating from the player models, markers, and anything needed in the way of environments. This is why we have chosen a more graphical update for you.
Thank you
